The topic was really interesting as you've mentioned crucial and significant facts.I'm sure I will encounter all those feelings like other people ,this summer I finished school, when I was studying for the final examinations which were extremely hard, I was just wishing to be ceased, though I was sure that my University life won't be better..life always wants challenges and sometimes I really get bored..I don't know how my journey in Medicine college will begin in the next few months.One of the biggest problems is that I'll leave my best friend and I really hate looking for new friends, cause I think it is a really hard thing and nowadays people always lie so I think it will really be hard to find new good friends...

Quite simple - I like going to school. It is fun and exciting. Spending time with friends might be the most important reason why I like school.

Of course, I can study, and I'd say that every day I go to school with a smile on my face.

I'm 16 and I come from Latvia, here school is free, all you need to buy are a few workbooks. Our school starts at 9:00, ends at about 16:00. We have breaks between classes, which last 5-50 minutes, so we have some time to eat and relax a little bit. Every lesson lasts about 40 minutes, and we have 6-8 of them daily.

To the list I'd like to add another reason - you have a chance to think about your future proffession, to decide what job you are willing to do. School is fun and I don't want to leave it yet.

Actually I dont wnt to add anything to the list. I like going to school becouse I am in high school and they is not the best time in my life, but I think one of the most interesting years. In my country schol is a litle bit diferent. I must buy notebooks, workbooks event books. But the education level is pretty high, I think so. Becouse when, I travel ,Ispeak to students. When they tell about their school system i am pretty suprised. For example in Czech Replublic they have only 2 languages Czech and English, there are less lesons too.

I think you already wrote everything. I can't say "I do" and I can't say "I don't" like school. I like school because of meeting my friends. The hardest part is learning. Right now I would love to go home and just relax. So I can't say that I like school or not. I'm not ready to leave this place. I still want to meet my friends and do stupid random things in classes. And yeah, I'm not smart enough to quit. In my country most schools don't have uniforms, and we have to buy some stuff for school of ourselves. In my school there are very nice teachers, and the food! I think there is no better cafe in any of schools. here in Latvia we don't have to pay for studies until the highschool ends.

I don't like going to school because I must wake up early and study hard. Another thing why I don't like going to school is homework I hate homework. And another thing is too much lessons in one day. After lessons I'm tired and want to go to sleep and don't do any homework.

Well, i was thinking to leave, until now. But i finally found subjects that i really like, those are: German and English. Those are two subjects that i like the most. Our school is good because of people, that we have here.

Schools in our country have different reputation. Our goverment often uses phrases like: Free education,Free books,notebooks,etc. But there are many schools where students need to buy books for their own money.

WAZAAAAP Jennifer! I could add only one thing to your list, it's eating good lunch for cheap. You can have very good meal for about 2$.
I do like going to school because there are my friends, we do funny things and talk about everything even when we are at school.
In my country school is okay, i go to school at about 8:00 and i go away from it about at 15:00, it's not that bad, because i still have plenty of time for anything i wan't to do after school. At my school most of teachers are very good, but of course there are some that hardly know what they are teaching. And then there are some that teach too much for our grade. I don't like going to school, i hate this. I like to sleep at home. I like lunch at school. At school i play voleyboll, football, basketball and handboll. I'm not very good at sport, and i don't really like it. But at school, sport is compulsory. My school days sometaims feel very long but, they die in fact, very short. I like going to, school, but i dont't know why i like it, but for some ordinary reasons i like it pretty much. Laughing load when you are writing esay and in the middle of the lesson you relize, we were laughing for 20 minutes already and heaven't written anything, just the headline and that's all! And one important thing is girls, truning your head up and down, pulling you to her house, palying foolish, that you don't like her, but you simply can't hide it, it's awesome and you must agree with me, becouse it's true! On the one hand it's exhausting, but one the other hand, it's fun, only that thing, that you don't have time for family and housework and from time too time you don't do your homework.

i want to add 1 thing - food. that is one of important thing , why i really come to school.
In school, we can get food, very tast lunch, and we don't have made it, by ourselves, we just go in caffeteria and buy that food, we like. Easy game.
answering to second question about going to school, i haven't think if i like to go to school, or not. There are many reasons, why I can't decide.
Ofcourse I don't like to study, lots of children don't want to go there, to sit 8 hours at school and studdy, but it's very important to build your level of knownlegde and other things.. It's the basics of your future.
and answer to third question - I think our school is on high level , but some of teachers are obsessed with their lessons and teaching things.

I agree to the list. This is interesting. I like going to school, because there are my friends. But I don't like studying. I like my school, school color is whitl, teachers are nice and people who go to this school are nice. But my school is not for free, and we don't have a uniform, but this is cool. I like uniform. I wish I had a blue uniform, because I like this color, and this is the know ledge color. We have many lesons. School day starts at 8:15 and finishes at 16:00 or 15:00, I don't like this.

Reading what have you write, I can't add anything more, because you have said everything, but if i would write about those reasons i won't write about uniforms, because i don't have them and i don't really like them... but thats what i think :)
If i have to tell about me going to school, I can say that I LOVE going to school because I meet my friends, I ''kill'' time, and I can learn for free!!! But sometimes i want to finish hight school faster, because i want to go academy and learn the thing what i want in my life. But if i have to choose to study for more 10 years or have to work, i would rather study :)
In my country there is different school, big school small schools, some schools have uniforms, but i have never had uniforms and I'm glad for that :) I have learn in small school and big school, and i better liked that small school, because we were like big family and I really liked that, I was sad whene i had to finnish that school, but I will never forget those people :)

I like going to school. I meet my friends. We all nearn something new and useful. Learning is very interesting. We can go to after school activities.
In my country, schools are for free. If you learn at a Latvian school, you can get very good knewledge. After school is finished, you can start studies at the university.
At school, teatchers think about students. They want the best for them. That is very fine. in Latvian schools you can get lunch. That is very important for your health. And one more thing. The class trips - they are so interesting.

There is something that i would like to add to the list. I am sure, that everyone, who has graduated from school misses the feeling when you are waiting for your exam's answers and of course - marks. That is what I like in school - to have good grades. I am not sure that I am ready to leave school. I am only sixteen years old and there are lots of things for me to learn. In latvian schools everything is a little bit different. We don't have school uniforms, we have to buy work books by ourselves, we have a lot of homework and school ends also from 15.30 to 16.00.

I totally agree with you. Because school, i think, i self-challenge. You can challenge yourself in schools`s exams and tests. You can know, how much you know at this moment. In school you can find "the right place" for your future.
In Latvia school system is quite different than in the United Kingdom. In Latvia you have to buy notebooks, workbooks for yourself, but you don't have to buy books - school gives it. In our school afterschool-sports arent compulsory, but a lot of students are going to differnent sports (dancing, football, basketball, volleyball).
I like going to school, because I like to challenge myself in tests, I know, that I am lazy, but it's not an obstacle for me!

I really like going to school, because there I meet my friends and in school I can learn something new and interesting for me. But if I had to leave school right now, I won't be happy, because I don't know where I could go to learn further. Education in my life means a lot to me.
Also school is a great place where you can find your favorite thing and maybe after school go to work in this sphere.

I don't like going to school , when I am tired, I want to sleep, and next day I have a lot of exams.
I like going to school, because:
1. In school I can meet my friends and spend much time with them.
2. I can learn something new and complete my knowledge.
3. I have a short days, if I worked, my days finished about three hours later.
4. We have a lot of holidays: Christmas, Easter, 18 of November, autumn and spring holidays, of course Summer holidays.
5. I can learn some subjects for free, because in school I do not pay for learning, but if I take a course I'd pay a lot of money.
I have a lot of reasons why I like to go to school more than I don't like to go to school.

I actually can't add anything to the list, because there is all what i think of school years, even much more. I like going to my school, reason for that is my friends. Whom I meet almost all the time only at school, because I'm always too busy to relax from Monday to Friday. Another reason is that i like to see how much I can learn and how good or maybe bad i can write exams, tests etc.
In my country schools are different than Uk's schools, I think that schools in Uk are much better than our schools, cause in our schools country doesn't buy for students notebooks, workbooks and even pens and pencils. Thei only can afford books, and not even in all subjects. Chemistry lessons in our school are hard too, but you have to keep on to learn, math is hard for me too, but you have to try to complete every challenge in your life to get all what you want.

I think i`m not ready to leave school , becouse i don`t know yet what i want to do after school . sometimes i like to go to school and meet friends. I like to be together with my friends because with them i dcan feel very weel and happy . I agree when you writw about friends. One of my best friend live in Riga and sometimes is`t difficult to meet her .
In schooly i don`t like exams , sometimes thei`re difficult and i don`t like it .

I live in Latvia. There are only some schools which have a uniform. I don't like the uniform but some people want it. When i was studying from 1 to9 class i thought school was very hard and put on a lot of responsibilities but now i learn in 10 class and school is fun than ever. This year i go to student parliament and it is interesting to think some ideas to do school beter. School is interesting and "Don't miss school because you'll miss the life!" :)

In Iecavas school I like lunch breaks, because they are 45 minutes long, and then I can go to a shop. I like my school, because there are all my friends. Hello everyone -- thanks so much for reading and responding to the article. I enjoyed reading all of your comments, and learning about what you think of school! It's really nice to hear how many of you enjoy going school.

One thing I find interesting is how many of you enjoy your schools lunches! You're really lucky to have such nice food at school. In the UK, school lunches have a bad reputation. Traditionally, pupils are given unheatlhy things like 'potato smileys' (Google it to see what I mean!). But maybe you have heard of Jamie Oliver? He is a famous chef who is trying to change this.

One of you also mentioned class trips which I completely forgot to mention! Class trips are great, and you often get to do some really interesting stuff -- we went rock climbing once, for example. Another thing somebody mentioned was school parliament -- I think this is a great thing to do at school,  too.

Okay so... I'm another person responding to this awesome blog.
In Ukraine, school's pretty good. At least, I'm okay with it. I can neither say that I love school nor that I hate it - it's just something I have to do.
My opinion on the things u consider 2 be good:
-Friends. Absolutely true. It takes us a really long time planning where to go and what to do on holidays when we wanna meet. At school, it's no problem.
-Free knowledge. It's true to some extend, but in our school we also have to spend money. We have an organisation called 'Parents' Committee' and our parents have 2 give them money every month. Then these committees manage our school life. Plus we have to buy some textbooks every year - e.g. for English & German/French.
-Uniform. I hate it. Here in Ukraine uniform is not compulsory in every school - in ours too. But my mom made me wear uniform. Now I don't, cuz I look really ridiculous.
-Short days. Not that short - especially for me. School ends at about 3 pm, but I also stay for extra lessons. In Ukraine we have many contests & olympiads in school subjects and I normally take part in English, German and Ukrainian ones. It takes a lot of time and hard work.
-Exercise. oh yeah. To tell the truth, P.E. is not my fav class. But I agree with u, we become lazy if we don't do sport.
-Bunsen burners. We only have chemistry experiments once in 3 months :(( , cuz our school can't afford all the necessary equipment & chemicals. So one has to be economical.
-Holidays. The best part about school :)))
-Teachers. I like most of my teachers. They're good, though give us much homework.
-Resources. In our school, we have to get all the necessary things ourselves. So u were lucky Jennifer.
-The Great Future. Yes, it is still far and unknown, but I personally already have to think about my future because I'm in the 9th grade. and we have exams in the end of this academic year, and then exams in the end of 11th grade. But u're right,the future is still something we await...

I have just started the high school, its a little bit hard because of studying, but it would be better . There are some great students and teachers and I think I will like it.

This topic is very interesting. I want to add something to the list. Firstly, I remember the measures, festivals, poetry evenings and competitions which were held every year in my school and I have so sweet memories connected with them. Secondly, school years are connected with many excursions and picnics, which are unforgettable. School in my country looks like Jennifer’s school, but pupil don’t wear a uniform, also informational technology now has much more influence on a studying process. There were a lot advantages of being at school, sometimes I miss school, but I think that student years are much more better. :)

I can’t add more, all of reasons are true.
I liked going to school very much, because in my opinion pupils can get information from books and teacher helps them. Also they can general education in every question, because they study different subjects.
In my country every school is similar.There aren’t uniform and every student is different whith their clothes, this indication their possibility, what I don’t like.
Really I want to say that I missed school.

I think,I can add only going on excursions.These travellings were very interesting and memorable.On the nature we had fun and shot funny videos.Now,when I am sad I review these videos and I get better.I really like going to school.My friends,my lovely teachers,we could spend a lot of time together.I respect all of my teachers.Of course,there were a lot of different persons and it's imposible love all of them.But they had put a lot of energy and knowledges in us and it must be appreciated.In my country schools are free.We don't wear uniforms.We learn for 12 years and we pass exams at the end of 12-th grade to take the certificate.

n fact I estimate school is imfortant thing for eduqation, but if we put into account the bad condition of therm in georgia it is clear that school has not educational function.
I don,t like this list. when the author eximane the general thing,he must not talk about individual feeling. He olso consider that uniform is not bad at all. I disagree this and think that indefendant in the clothes promote childrens abilitys.

Frankly speaking.the topic was really interesting, because school is important thing for our education. I'm sure that many people will feel the same as I. As for me the school was really great and there i spent good day, my teacher's were great and they always help me. Now I'm a student and i have new friend's too., but I still miss my school, class teacher's and of course my school friend's. One negative thing i can say about my school was resources especially computers and special technology,that was really necessary.

I am not agree with you. I have finished school 2 years ago and I never miss my school.
I hate get up early every day ,it was very difficult for me.Many of subjects were uninterested for me and I was forced to learn .
Sometimes I miss some teachers,they were very kind.But anyway I am very happy that I’ve finally finished school.
