Can anyone learn to sing?
Jay Can anyone learn to sing? Erm, if you’ve got melody in your voice, like (sings) ‘Can anyone learn to sing… can anyone learn to sing… can anyone learn to sing… can anyone learn to sing…’ it’s basically if you can take the tone just a little bit higher than how you would speak, then that would be a starting point.
The reason why a lot of people find it hard to sing is that they always kind of put themselves up against great singers, so they kind of feel ‘If I can’t sing like an Usher, a Chris Brown, an Adele, an Amy Winehouse, then I’m not even going to bother’, but all singing is is basically being able to capture a melody above your normal speaking voice, and that’s where you would actually start off. So, I would say yes, anyone can learn.
Is there a way to stretch your vocal range?
Jay Thanks for your question, Jennifer. There is a way of, er, actually stretching your vocal cords. It’s basically just by doing vocal scales. You know, if you were to do it every day starting from a comfortable position in your voice, you’re doing (sings) ‘La la la la la la la la la la la la la…’ stretching it even higher… ‘da da da da da da da da da da da da da…’ So basically, what you’re doing, you’re stretching your vocal cords, but it’s important to make sure that you get the tension in your voice but not the strain.
And in all the exercises that you do, it’s imperative that you relax all your outer muscles. If you see when you look in the mirror you’re straining and you see all the veins in your neck, or your shoulders – it’s stiff, you’ve got to make sure before you tackle any exercise that you’re nice and relaxed.

I enjoyed watching this video so much! I like to sing myself, but unfortunately I'm not very good at it :( I think I gotta attend some singing classes to improve my skills (if I have any skills). I still don't have a definite opinion if anyone can learn to sing. It depends on the voice - everybody has a different voice. You see, Jay didn't say a definite 'yes' or 'no'. So perhaps it's a question of will and practice. If you want to sing - you probably will be able to.
Of course every one can sing!Like me,I didn't sing well when I was little.But I had a good luck that my music teacher teached me how to sing.To sing well,I practiced singing everyday!I appriciate my music teacher a lot.

I like to sing , but I'm not very good at all!!!I often sing at school, or at church (only Sunday mornings!) but nothing too fancy :P
I think that everyone can learn to sing, it depends from your voice and actitude!
I usually try to sing Paramore's and Keane's songs, and it helps me to learn more about English! :)

I think everybody can learn to sing. There is no bad voice. If you think that you can't sing you must try.

Of course, I like to sing, but I like heavy music, in which extreme vocal is using, and not anyone can learn to sing extreme vocs. In my opinion, girls can't learn it, because they have another vocal cords then guys. But there are exceptions to the rules, like Angela from "Arch Enemy" metal band...

I love to sing but i can't ....
I love singing, I attended a music school. My teacher says that every child knows to sing as a little, but his talent increases later if he doesn't practice. But I believe that there are untalented people and they can't learn to sing. But they can prove themselves in something else, everyone is talented for something, and we shouldn't try to do something we aren't talented for, but to yearn to give our best in the topic we're interested in.
