Yep, I like number, binary number. Only 0 and 1 combination. I think that the world can change only those numbers.

Hi sarfraz2003,
That's great! Can you share your idea with us? I'm sure other learners need help to remember numbers too.
Best wishes, Jo (LearnEnglish Teens Team)

Hm...... I guess the second possibility is more rational.....I'll go for it :-)
Moreover, it's only mentioned that "ONE" of them is eldest. There no information about the other two. They may be twins :-) So yeah, i guess the 2nd one is right :)

( I hope I'm not wrong... *sighs* *panic's*)

Please reply soon :)

And here is my explanation : ( My english is not very good )
We- the readers do not know the house number of the farmer so we can't solve this Math exercise, but imagine that we are the worker, ( Okay, from now, I am that worker ). I visit the farmer's house, this means I know the house number ----> I know the sum of three daughters' age. Moreover, I also know the product of their age. So, I must find the answer easily, but I can't. I ( that worker ) still said that the information is not enough ? And.....and....and......I'm sorry, Hadia, I can't express my idea in English : (((. I wish my E were better. But let's see
There are many three-number group that their product is 72, e.g ( 2,3,12) or ( 1,8,9)......but we take notice of two choices ( 8,3,3) and ( 6,6,2), both of them have the same sum (14) -----> so, the house number must be 14. We also eliminate the answer ( 6,6,2) as the farmer has the eldest daughter. Therefore, our answer is ( 8,3,3).

I and my friends at school liked pretty much numbers, so much that all of us chose to work with construction, involving many calculations. I am still waiting for a vacancy in the technical course of buildings.

Hi hadia,
I'm glad to hear that you are good at Math. I'm neither good nor bad at Math. :vv, but I'm quite fond of it.
And...I've prepared a small Math exercise for you : D. Let me know your answer !

One day, a worker visited a farmer's house. The worker said to the farmer :
- Tell me a bit about your children.
The farmer replied : - Well, I have three daughters.
- What are your daughters' ages ? The worker asked
The farmer replied :
-The product of their ages is 72, and the sum of their ages is my house number.
After spending some minutes finding the answer, the worker said:
- The information is not enough ! Give me more !
The farmer replied:
- Oh yes, I almost forgot, my oldest daughter loves chocolate so much !
After that, the worker answered correctly about the children's ages.

And here is my question : What are the daughters' ages ?
Note: This Math exercise only has one key.
Good luck.

Hey there Giang :)
Um..Hm... Well the problem is not so easy....still I've work out to give the answer :)
As you have mentioned that there's an oldest daughter, which means that the other two are younger than her and there's no possibility that they may have age equal to hers! So, I guess I have two possible answers in my way:
First Possibility:
Eldest daughter= ( 9 years) because you said she likes chocolate a lot and chocolate's spellings are equal to 9 .......Moreover 7+2=9 (LOL...It's a guess)
And other two ages are 4 and 2 and house number=15
Second Possibility:
Now, the house number!!....It's not mention....therefore I have a possibility which gives us the answer...
Three Daughters (spelling= 14) so the house number might be 14
The 3 numbers which give product equal to 72 and sum equals to 14 are
8,3,3 so , the eldest is 8 years old and the younger ones are of the same age...
Also 8+3+3= 14
Now we know that daughters are three so
14-3= 11 and (House number)'s spellings are 11....... So that can also be the possibility...

Ha ha ha :P
Dearest Giang....What do you think about it?? ....huh?
Phew! That was really not easy to do.......I've not practice math sine a year or two....may be that's the reason I found it difficult :))
What's your answer by the way, huh??
Do tell. I'm eager to know if I'm right or wrong :)

Chúc một ngày tốt lành ( have a nice day :P)
Hadia :)
