Teacher: Are you all sitting comfortably? We’re going to do a short quiz called ‘What kind of student are you?’ I want you to listen carefully and think about your responses. Then I want you to write your answers in your notebook. Please be sincere! Nobody is going to look at your answers. When we complete the quiz I’ll read out the results and you can think about them carefully for a few minutes in private. You need a pen and a blank page in your notebook. OK, pay attention, please.

One. When do you usually get to school?
a) Early, you like to have extra time ‘just in case’ something crops up.
b) You always turn up just in time, as the bell rings.
c) You often get to school late, out of breath from rushing.

Two. When do you usually do your homework?
a) As soon as you get it. The same evening.
b) A day or two before you have to hand it in.
c) The same day you hand it in. Sometimes it’s late.

Three. What is your average mark in tests?
a) You usually do well and get seventy-five per cent or higher.
b) You usually pass tests but your marks are near to fifty or sixty per cent.
c) Your marks are often below fifty per cent.

Four. What kind of a relationship do you have with the staff at school?
a) Great! You get on well with most of the academic staff.
b) Not bad. You have a good relationship with some members of staff.
c) Dreadful. In general you don’t get on with teachers.

Five. Where do you usually sit in class?
a) Usually at the front so you can see the board easily.
b) Somewhere in the middle so you can daydream unnoticed.
c) Near the back so you can turn on your mobile without being seen.

Six. What do you want to do when you finish school?
a) Carry on studying at university or college.
b) You don’t know yet. It depends on your exam results.
c) Look for a job and start earning your own money. You’ll be fed up with studying by then.

OK. Now look at your answers and count the number of As, Bs and Cs. Then I’ll read out the results. Are you ready?

If you have mostly As, you are an exceptional student. You are mature and you have a superb attitude towards your studies. You definitely grasp the importance of a good education.
If you have mostly Bs, you are an average student, but you are capable of much more and it isn’t too late to improve and become an excellent student. You just need to make a few changes to your habits.
If you have mostly Cs, you really need to adjust your outlook. You waste your time and you are at risk of finishing school without any qualifications. Think about your behaviour and consider making some changes before it’s too late.

I consider myself as an As student because of my constance and effort. Anyway, I always try to take advantage of the time that I have with my family. I think the most important thing is the mind, the attitude. If you need a break, please, take it. The psicological health is super important to be succssesful in the whole life.

I don't want to praise myself, but I think, I am a good hard working student. You'll ask me "Why I think so?". Well, let me give you some proofs of my assessment. Firstly, I plan my daily schedule very carefully. I study for 8 to 9 hours every day and a bit less at weekend. I have my studying rules and I always follow it. Secondly, I am very serious about studying process. Before my class starts I switch off my mobile phone in order to be concentrated well and only after a lesson I check my phone. To sum up, I believe, our studying attitude will effect on our future and career so we should be conscious students and of course, don't forget to have a rest and sometimes hang out with your friends. Our lives are not just about studying.

It's funny how the gender of the teacher is described as female in the 2nd line of the 2nd exercise and the teacher was actually a male.

Hi Y_A_S_H

Thanks for your comment. You're right, it should read 'to what he is saying.'

We'll try to fix this mistake as soon as possible.

You could call me a average student i guess.... There are 48 students in our class, I was the 27th from the exam last year and my average was 75.8% People are mostly judged by their marks in our school. I know its not right but that's the way thing are... I'm kinda social and I guess my marks are average, though our schools average mark is over 85% (the average mark is over 75% in many schools) We don't get government papers for our exams unlike most other schools and our papers are hard compered to the government ones..... I didn't study much during the lock down because i was addicted to reading (shadowhunters 3) books, and we were told that there won't be a first term test....though right after schools started they told us that we're gonna have a exam and we were given the timetable....I was extremity stressed because of this exam and students are so competitive when it comes to the term test..... I really wanted to get my marks over 85% for a commendable report though I knew I couldn't because there's a gap of 10% between my old marks and 85% i gave my full effort and studied hard...... our exam finished about three weeks ago and our marks were given, I was seriously surprised and happy when my teacher said that i was the 19th from the class with a average of 80.6%! I didn't win a commendable stage report but I think I've improved a lot and I'm happy with my marks.... I'm trying my best to get a high percentage and to get into the top ten students next term!

I would say I'm an average student. On most of the questions I had B, but on some of them, I also had A. I'm a hard-working student thinking about my future!

I would say I'm an average student, but I should change some of my habits. I always postpone my homework. For example, when the deadline is on Friday I make my homework on Thursday night. I am still learning, but I am making progress.

As the answers of the questions are mostly A, I think that I am a good a student. it is true that I try to study at my best because it my responsibility to study hard as a student . But honestly I like the Extra Curricular Activities most & I like Event Organizing more. That means I am a student who studies good but wants to do from other fields more.

Submitted by Solimuddin on Tue, 04/02/2019 - 09:11

a,b,c All three are correct for me for most of the questions here. So, I can say I'm average student.

Submitted by lilmeowmeow93 on Mon, 04/01/2019 - 17:22

My result says I'm an average student. I study just good enough to keep my grades neat. But I'll definitely improve and change my habits.

Submitted by habiasun on Mon, 04/01/2019 - 17:15

I can't describe what kind of student I am within a few words. There's just so much. I think I haven't fully discovered my potentials yet. I think if I work hard I can accomplish amazing things in life, things that actually matter to me in life, things that I strongly desire or dream of accomplishing one day. But no doubt, I must work my level best to reach that certain point in life where I can look back and say to myself that yes, I think I did it. Bearing that in mind, I am trying to be the best version of myself by starting to become more punctual in finishing my studies regularly and also by giving up the habit of finishing every work just before the due time. Although I got mostly A's in the video's Q&A but still I believe that one must keep challenging oneself to become better as it helps to actually bring out one's true talents. But hey, it's just my point of view. For others it may vary and I deeply respect those. To sum it up, maybe according to the Q&A I am a pretty good student but I wish to improve my areas of weaknesses and I most certainly want to discover my strengths and explore those fields more and more. So you can say I'm a curious student (if such a type exists). I like sarcasm though;]

I can be pretty lazy as a student. Sometimes i save my homeworks for the weekend for some reason but I still manage to get good grades. But I do need to change some of my habits just to be more excellent in school.
