I always didn't have enough time for games. I thought that it only can do harm to the brain. But now I know that it can help me in several ways. Now I can play games and get satisfaction without been captured by anxious thoughts.

I love videogames where you can cutomize your main character and you take different paths in the videogame depending on your decisions, those videogames are the most realistic.

Hi ceren123,
Oh, you play the game to forget your troubles??
Well, I feel in the same way when I swim in the pool.
BTW, I'll give you a helping hand if you have any troubles….
I'd like to hear about it, if I can be of any service!

I learned a lot about space, science and orbital mechanics with an awesome game called Kerbal Space Program. It is based around launching little green men into space. The game is very creative, too because it lets you to build build the rockets on your own In an in-game editor. Example rockets do exist, but the player is encouraged to build their own. The game has very realistic physics and it is open-world, with a whole solar system to explore!

I'm into different kind's of games, strategies, action etc. Right now I'm playing "The wolf among us" by Telltale Games. This game is about making fast decisions, that will have influence on future. So, my attitude to gaming is really good. I'm sure that they have great effect on me. But, on the other hand, there is a spell, in my language: "Що занадто - то нездраво", wich means that when you do something way to much, it's bad in all ways.
If someone is interested, I'm seeking to have a chat friend, so we both could improve English skills in live conversation.

Hi PloKoon12. Thanks for your nice comment and explanation. I'm afraid though it's not allowed to search for a live chat partner on here. One of our house rules is:

  • Do not share your email address, phone number, home address, school name, messenger ID or passwords with anyone.

This is because we need to make sure that all our users stay 100% safe, and it could be dangerous to talk to strangers on the internet. But one thing you can do is keep on writing and replying to comments on here. There are many friendly users to talk to here. Best wishes :)

I play no computer games, but if you consider that "Typing Master Pro" is a computer game, I admit playing it four or five years ago. In my opinion, they are really bad for us. Evidence? Of course I have. My younger brother is addicted to computer games. He spends so much time playing them that he even doesn't care about having dinner or helping my mother with housework. Consequently, he often feels drowsy, tired and gets angry easily. Yesterday, I gave my younger brother a test to check his level, No surprise, the result was so bad. I had to shout and threaten to break the computer immediately.
Well, benefits we have when playing computer games? I don't see...Anyway, I am not interested in them and my brother's bad situation always reminds me " Video games are not good, not good"
However, I have no idea if you like playing them and find out lots of benefits

Well, I'm sorry for your brother. But, video games are not always bad. It depends on the type of the video game you play. If your brother is playing shooter games, like Call Of Duty, or Battlefield, he can get very aggressive because of semi-traumatizing experience in those games. I will take myself as an example: I play constructive games, which require thinking and which are mildly, or not violent at all. I can call myself a very active gamer, but I still have time to go out with my friends. Is your brother depressed? When I was depressed, I was spending almost all of my time playing computer games, just trying to escape the cruel and painful reality (Check my post in "Have you ever been bullied").

Hi, NatsuTa
Thank for reading my comment and spent time appreciate it !
Yes, I agree with you that I get addicted to other stuff such as reading and studying, but nobody in the world complains about this because it is utterly good !
However, Video games- it is not completely good ! They are good for you but they are bad for my younger brother. It's a bit harsh when you've said that I control my brother. Not at all :'( I have responsibilities to guide him the right way, I never let everything affect to his studying. I admit sometimes not being calm when teaching him. Anyway, I don't allow my brother to play video games. There are two choices : Stop playing or Failing exams.
As I've said in the comments above, I have no ideas when you are fond of playing video games. It's great when you can divide time between real and unreal life suitably. However, my opinion about something which has two opposite points is : " Good + Bad = Bad"

Best wishes- Giang

Hey, don't completely take away games from your brother. You will eventually make him even angrier at you. Let him play like, 1 hour a day, when he finished all of his studying and homework. He will probably feel less stressed then. I can divide my life in real and unreal, but I get many others can't.

Dont judge something youve never tried. SOMETHING that is GOOD or BAD HAS TO have somethintg BAD or GOOD with it. GOOD comes with BAD while BAD comes with GOOD.You can get addicted to anything and get the same effect. the video game is not causing it its because he really likes to play that game. If you really liked something like puzzles or reading and are addicted to reading or puzzles and you stay up all night get the same effects there isn't much of a difference. It's NOT like you can ONLY get ADDICTED to video games. and you don't control aother peopls lives even family if they made there OWN bad decision its there fault and they get what they served. but of course you need to guide peopl on the right path sometimes but its even better if they straighten up themselves. and VIDEO GAMES had saved LIVES that coulnt of been saved otherwise.

Hello NatsuYAishere!
Well, I agree with your view that there are two faces of the same coin; it's not fair to see video game as a black hat; and we can't control someone's live and their bad decisions.
But I'm a bit puzzled by the reason why you can justify the addiction to video game because video games saves you that couldn't have been saved otherwise? I mean, that sounds a bit like an evasive maneuver. Is that what you meant??
Nine tenth, you're right, we can't control everything and everyone even if one says or writes or acts utterly incoherent things. Simply imagine if someone whom I care about became addicted to something BAD, I would get worried about it. There are lots in the world to make the most of it and staying in one's shell all the time seems to be nonsense, aside from having some mental troubles…
As you said, things have ups and downs, I wish I could support each other with my BF through good times and bad!☆

I've heard from a teacher that video games are not always so harmful as the majority of adults think, but the point is the time matters. As is obvious, it can make a difference in school records between a user who spends much more time on video games and the one on reading and other practices.
