People: Hi, Hi.
Tom: I’m here in Glasgow as an ambassador for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. It’s my first time ever in Glasgow, so I’m really excited to be here, and I’m about to go up and abseil down this amazing structure. Dangerous and scary things like this actually excite me, so I’m a bit weird like that and that’s why I kind of like diving because you never know quite what’s going to happen until you’ve done it.
Tom: I think it’s great to engage with the fans, and kind of meet the mascot ... wear the tartan which was quite interesting because obviously I’ve never worn anything like that before. It was great to just kind of get involved and get really stuck in with the Commonwealth Games' atmosphere. Since London it has been pretty crazy, it’s hectic, and ... but it’s been fun and I wouldn’t change it. It’s been one of those experiences that’s changed my life.
Tom: Happy Birthday!
Fan: Thank you!
Fan’s voice (off screen): So cute!
Tom: Oh yeah, that was yesterday. I went and presented …
Editor of the newspaper: The editor usually sits here and goes round the table and gets us all into trouble for what’s gone on the day before, but we’re going to change it slightly today so has anyone got any questions? … Yeah?
Girl: Can you marry me?!
Tom: Let’s bowl!
Woman: Let’s get a bowl on!
Man: Hold them whatever way you want … OK?
Tom: OK. This’ll probably be terrible. I’ll probably end up over there.
Interviewer: How’s Tom doing?
Man: He’s doing well. He’s getting the hang of it now.
Interviewer: If he gives up the diving, has he got a career in bowls there?
Man: Aye, aye. He’ll be good at the bowls too, not just the diving. He started off a bit rough but he got really quite good at the finish, like. He’s got the co-ordination, see, and you need that in diving too.
Tom: Learning how to play bowls has been actually really good fun. I didn’t think I’d be very good at it, but I kind of got the hang of it towards the end, and it makes we want to actually watch a new sport that I’ve never watched before.
It’s been amazing here in Glasgow today. I mean, I’ve seen so many sights in Glasgow in such a small amount of time but it’s been really good fun.
It’s a beautiful city and I think people should definitely make the effort to come up and watch these amazing Commonwealth Games 'cause they’re going to be incredible.
It’s great if anyone can go and see new sports for the Commonwealth Games … (Don’t be …) It’s not just about like the athletics and the swimming and all that kind of stuff. There are so many other things out there. I mean, gymnastics is amazing to watch, and there’s rugby sevens that's a new one that’s in there. Badminton … there are so many things to go and see and the more you can go and see the better.
Glasgow is going to put on an amazing show, so it’s definitely game on!
