According Wikipedia, Shinkansen literally means new trunk line, referring to the high-speed rail line network in Japan. The name Superexpress, which is painted with a blue line on the body, often stuck people as blue lightning when it’s moving. That's what my grandma told me.

Blue lightning ... that really conveys the speed of the train so it's a good nickname for it, I think! In the UK we call it the bullet train (I mean, that's how we refer to the Japanese high-speed trains. We don't have those in the UK). Do you like train travel?

Aha, the bullet train sounds good! I think a steam train in the UK looks great! I want to board it someday enjoying beautiful views hopefully not the smell of the steam! My parents say they are interested in boarding Eastern & Orient Express here in Malaysia near future. I heard it's popular among adults!?
