Robert: Hello, my name is Robert, and I’m studying music at GCSE, as well as many other subjects.
Ursule: Hi, my name’s Ursule. I’m from Lithuania and this is my third year in the school. I’m in Year 11 right now.
Robert: And for my music GCSE I have lessons three times a week and we study lots of different music from the Baroque era right until the world music.
Ursule: For music, we’ve got two different teachers and one of the teachers teaches us erm, composition and the other one mainly teaches us er, the music history, and all the theory that we need to know for our exams.
Teacher 1: And then, of course, we have excellent connections, through our long history of preparing students for university, to some of the top universities in the UK, and, increasingly, worldwide as well.
Teacher 2: In terms of more formal feedback that supports them, we regularly assess their progress and offer them some targets to help them focus on things that they can improve in their work. And that also guides them to try and achieve much more highly.
Ganna: Hi, my name is Ganna. I’m from the Ukraine. I take double science, art, drama, history and French.
Liam: I do chemistry six times a week. My first chemistry lesson was five years ago, erm, in Year 9. I’m looking forward to doing chemistry in future subjects, and, like, doing it at university for medicine, and stuff like that.
Ivy: My name is Ivy Qian and I come from China. I chose maths, further maths, physics and economics as my subjects. I’ve finished all my single maths modules for the first year. And as this is the second year, I start further maths and as you can see in our further maths lesson the size is pretty small. There’s only three students here, and we have four maths teachers in total, so it’s quite good because when you just have a question you just can ask the teacher immediately and they just answer you and they can slow down or even speed up when you need it.
What subjects do you enjoy at school? What do you do in those classes?
