Hi aneem. Thanks for your comment! Just wondering, do you mean TAKE AFTER (look like somebody / be similar to sb) or TAKE CARE (care for sb / look after sb)?

My family have 7 members ;parents,2 sisters,2 brother and I.
Everyone tells me that I take after my mum. And I think the same as them.
Yeah, and that's the biggest problem in the world. Every day I have to look after my young brother. He always wears me out. >.< But I love him so much. :)
Yes, I go for with my family. We're all loving each other. And I love them so so so much. :)
;D
I have got one brother. My family have 4 members.I, my brother, my mother and my father I sometimes look after my brother... I love my family..
My family have 4 members-my parents, sister and I. We're on the good terms the majority of time, but my parents're very annoying sometimes and they're acting overprotective. They think I'm too young for some things, and my father still sees me like a baby, and we've been arguing recently. I'm the youngest, and that's the reason, but I want them to accept i'm growing up and there's no reason to protect me so much. Since I'm the youngest in the family, I don't have to look after brother/sister-luckily:). I don't take after my parents at all: we're so different, in both appearance and character.
in fact i take more after my uncle but i love my parents and my sisters too...
I take after my dad. Also I have a little step-bro I always look after him. I'm happy with that but sometimes he can be so annoying, anyway I really love him:)
I love my family.Family-is a small society.Of course, we take care of parents stay.I have got a one brother.
I have a with my brother to the good relation.
Who do you take after most? Your mum or your dad? Why?-Both of them.
Because, every parent should take care of their children.
İt is not true?
Thanks for all your answers. Actually, "take after someone" and "look after someone" have very different meanings:
take after someone = be like or look like someone in your family Both my children take after their father - they have dark hair and a short temper. I take after my mother's side of the family - we are always looking for adventure.
look after someone = take care of someone, be responsible for someone I had to look after my mum while she was ill. I'm looking after my little sister tonight when my parents go out.
You can also use look after for animals and things. I'm looking after my neighbour's cat while she's away. Can you look after my bag for a moment while I go to to the toilet?
I hope that helps! Try the practice exercises on this page to help you remember. Then try this question:
Who do you take after most? Your mum or your dad? Why?

We use take after when you look like someone in your family and look after when you take care of someone, right?
yes really i take after my parents both..because i love them..and i have a younger brother and a sister too.. they both take after me..i love theme all!
I think that take after is to help him in difficult situations and look after is to see if he make any mistake.... this is my opinion please tell me if i am right or wrong......
Right, everyone, I have a vocabulary question for you! What's the difference in meaning between:
a. I take after my dad.
