Mrs Spence: Ahhh ... Jack. Please take a seat. I’m Mrs Spence.
Jack: Hello Mrs Spence. Nice to meet you.
Mrs Spence: You too. So, you’ve applied to do a teaching course here.
Jack: Yes, that’s right.
Mrs Spence: I’d like you to tell me, first of all, why you want to be a teacher.
Jack: OK. Well, I’ve always loved explaining things and helping people. I’m not looking for an easy job – I like a challenge! I also want to work with young people.
Mrs Spence: And why have you decided to become a PE teacher?
Jack: OK, I love all sports and I really believe it’s important for young people to do sport at school.
Mrs Spence: Yes, I agree. Why is it so important, do you think?
Jack: OK. Well, first of all, we all know it’s important for our health to keep physically fit. Secondly, physical exercise is good for our mental well-being and self-esteem.
Mrs Spence: Hmmm …
Jack: Finally, playing sport teaches young people important life lessons, like the importance of teamwork, discipline and fairness, for instance.
Mrs Spence: OK, thank you. And, where does your passion for sport come from?
Jack: Hmm, let me think. It’s difficult to choose one thing in particular ... I grew up around sport. My mum was a really good athlete, actually.
Mrs Spence: Oh, yes?
Jack: We used to go and see her running marathons, which made a big impression on me as a child. I suppose it’s in my blood.
Mrs Spence: Right, fantastic. And how do you think teachers can encourage their students to enjoy sport?
Jack: Hmm, that’s an interesting question. On one hand, I think many students enjoy the competitive element. They want to be the best, it’s motivating for them. On the other hand, we need to encourage the ones who are not as confident. So we need to reward them for participating and trying their best. It’s not all about winning!
Mrs Spence: OK, thank you very much, Jack. You make some good points.
Jack: It’s my pleasure. Thank you.
Mrs Spence: Now I’m going to show you around the college ...

Discussion
Do you think you might have to do an interview in English in the future? What have you learned from this video?
Comments
What's the name of the music playing at the beginnig of all videos?
Dear DIMON,
We are so glad you like the intro music! I'm sorry but our production team produced the video so I don't the name of it. What do you like about it?
Best wishes, Tina (LearnEnglishTeens team)
After this Vedio I have a lot of information about interview.
I think I've learned a lot from this interview, especially after I did exercises which helped me understand the subject and caused that I didn't have to learn by heart served vocabulary.
I've got to know that during interview it is important to speak confidently. It has given me plenty of useful tips, for instance when you have no idea about what to talk with examiner to use sentences like "Let me think; That's an interesting question; It's difficult to choose one in particular". Moreover it's shown great, we can even say sophisticated words generally connected with sport and school goals like "keep physically fit; good for mental well-being and self-esteem; the lesson of teamwork, discipline and fairness."
Great, thanks for your comment! We're glad the video and exercises were useful :)

is possible ,i learned way of talk in a interview
well, i guess yeah. I have always been interested in language specially English. I have learned many good sentences and also that it is important to be confident and talk not too fast and not too slowly when you are in an interview.
I think some day I'll have to do an interview in english and it is very important to learn how to communicate in that kind of situations
I liked the participating aspect in this video.I've learnt that you shouldn't give general answers but rather you should be specific. I also enjoyed the activities that accompanied the video.
I don't like to do a lot of sport but I like to do sport sometimes, in my school we don't have a PE class.
I want to live in my beautiful country, but if I were a famous sportsperson, I would interviewed. I have learned how to say: on one hand and on the other hand.
i think, in my future, i will have a interview in English. It will be fantastic. By this interview, i learned my things. Firstly, it is the way to list things. Secondly, it is the way to show my mind to impression something... that's great
is possible ,i learned way of talk in a interview
I sure hope i have to.!
İn this time ı m not sure that ı m speakıng ın englısh so fastly. So I m not trust myself a lot. But I can speak slowlier than jack.
Thanks to a lot who are prepare this video.
İt taught me some words and some expression.
I don't think I might have to do an interview in English in future..It's really diffcult for me.This video is very interesting .I can know more than things about interview .I think it's important to make good impression to the interviewer, which decides you will be passed or not.:)))
If I pass my school entrance exams, there will be a interview in 2 weeks. This video is quite helpful for me actually. I think I've learn the following:
1.Talk in well-structured.
2.Show confident and passion during the interview.
3.I can say " it's my pleasure" after interviewer said " Thank you for coming ". ( I always just say thank you to the interviewer at last.
Yeah Maybe I will pass an intereview in the future and I learn how we should speak about it.
It depends on where i decide to go when I grow up. I didn't learn anything in particular watching this video except for some possibly some phrases.
Yes, I think so. I learn to use different types of words not just "and, so, then" . Also to not speak too fast or too slow. And more.
Yes,I think so, I didn't learn so much but now I know how to have a job interview.
I am certain that I will have to do an English interview in the future because I plan on moving to another country when I get a bit older. I learned that I have to speak slower so that I don't mess up as many times as I did.
bruh , i didnt learned nothing xD
I've learned that you should explain thoughroughly what you think.
Yes, I think I might have to do or get interviewed in English some day. I have learnt to speak to people in a formal way.
Hi gianggiagn
Thanks for the tips, very clear!
By the way, may I ask a question about 1)?
Could you tell me what speed you think is appropriate? :)
For example,
a) Largo (48-56)
b) Langhet (60-66)
c) Adagio (69-70)
Looking forward to your reply✨
Elsa
hi elsa007 !
can i ask u some question i don't know please
what are largo, langhet and adagio mean?
please answer for me
hasiki
I have learned from this video that :
1) Do not speak too fast or too slowly
2) Give long answers as possible
3) Use " I think, I believe,...."
4) If you haven't had ideas about what you are going to talk to the examiner, you can use " Hmm, let me think/ That's an interesting question/ It's difficult to choose one in particular.. ( but not too many times )
5) Use good expressions " keep physically fit/...good for mental well being and self esteem.../ the lessons of teamwork, discipline and fairness...
6) Be confident !
7) Smile and say "thank you" to the examiner after finishing the interview.
You sum up so well
