Host: At exam time it is important to sleep well. Today we have Doctor Baker with us in the studio and he is going to give us five top tips for getting a good night’s sleep. Welcome to the show, Doctor Baker.

Dr Baker: Thank you. It’s great to be here. Let’s start with tip one. Don’t go to bed with the television on. Some people think they can sleep well with the TV on, but the noise and lights mean you don’t really sleep well, so turn it off!

Tip two: Don’t think too much before bedtime. Do your hardest homework earlier in the evening. Do easier homework later. If your brain is too busy and full of ideas it takes longer to get to sleep.

Tip three: Don’t play video games for an hour before you go to sleep. They also make your brain too busy and active.

Tip four: Turn off your cell phone when you go to bed. What is so important that it can’t wait until the morning? If possible, leave your phone in another room.

Tip five: Play music if you like. But don’t play it too loud. Turn the sound down low.

Host: Thank you, Doctor. That is very useful advice for our young listeners.

I usually don't sleep well at night because I think too much before sleeping.

I always sleep very well because I don't have phone yet I'm still young and my television is not in the bedroom. I also sleep with good aircon and I sleep around 8 hours then I wake up at 6:00 AM

I think it sometimes. When today or tomorrow has some special event, then I was very excited so I can't sleep well. I just keep thinking and about it. I often go to bed at 10 p.m. and I wake up at 7 a.m. So my daily sleep is 6-7 hours a day.

Well, I do not think so, I am a person who actually sleep like 5-6 hours, honestly I always fell so bad after wake up so my conclusion is that you should sleep the 8 hours that the doctors and scientists recommend for all the people

I think I sleep well. I go to bed at 10 o’clock p.m. I don’t play games for an hour before I go to sleep. I don’t think too much before bedtime. Because if your brain is busy and full I will sleep very bad. I don’t watch TV before bedtime.

Hmm... I think i rarely have a good bed time. I play a lot in the daytime, and I just study in the night. And when I go to bed, i use smartphone a long time before I really sleep. I just sleep 5 hours, then I wake up in the morning and go to school, but I always feel sleepy too much. So, I spend my weekend to sleep all day. I think I need to improve myself better.

Hello everyone, This is my first comment here :) I don't sleep well and that's why I'm always tired in the morning. My main problem is that many of my dorm friends sleep late at night. I can't sleep because of being disturbed. So my daily sleep is 5-6 hours and that is not enough for me. sleep tips for me so that the morning feels fit and doesn't feel tired in the morning.

I didn't sleep well last night. The weather is too hot. I try to sleep but I couldn't. I left my bed and went out. Suddenly, I saw something in the corner of my room. I came close and touched it. And it jumped on my hand. It was a mouse. Terrible! I threw it away and ran into the bathroom. And I saw another mouse. What a horrible night! I couldn't sleep all night. And I was late for school this morning. I hate mouse. Tonight, I will check the room before going to bed. I wish I will sleep well tonight.

Hi Sea_Pearl,
Thanks for your comment. I've just checked and the audio file downloads fine so I think your problem is a local one on your computer. Please try on another computer or device and try another browser. You can also try to 'clear the cache' on Chrome and then try again.
Best wishes, Jo (LearnEnglish Teens Team)

Hi Mughal! This is a phrase commonly used by a guest on a show or television programme. When the presenter introduces the guest or says 'Welcome', the guest can reply 'It's great to be here' (= I am happy to be here / I am happy to be here on this show). Does that help? :)
